If you could design your dream cake, what would it look and taste like?

We posed this question to San Francisco youth, ages 9–18, in 826 Valencia's after-school tutoring program at our Mission Center. With support from 826 Valencia’s volunteer writing tutors, these creative young authors put on their chef hats and picked up their pencils, and wrote vivid, descriptive cake stories which inspired a special cake for all to enjoy, baked by our friends at Craftsman and Wolves.

826 Valencia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to eighteen with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.
