After exploring Daniel Nayeri's Everything Sad is Untrue, reflecting on themes and characters, and doing a variety of creative writing activities, students created their own autoethnography—a story from your life that helps you understand and celebrate you, your brilliance, your place in the world and in your culture.
This book contains mature content. 826 Valencia encourages students to write pieces that are meaningful to them. In this vein, these works by high school students address a range of issues, and therefore contain topics, themes, and language that may not be suitable for readers under the age of fourteen.
826 Valencia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to eighteen with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.
