Writing is an essential component in our After-School Tutoring Program at 826 Valencia. Upon completing homework assignments, enrolled students engage with a wide range of writing curriculum. With the support of 826 staff and volunteers, students select their favorite writing pieces and then edit their own work. Finally, these pieces are translated and published every year in this bilingual book. Our publication is traditionally released with our young authors reading their writing to fellow students, families, and tutors at the end of the school year.

La escritura es un compotente esencial en nuestro Programa de Tutoría Post-Escuela en 826 Valencia. Al completarlas tareas, los estudiantes inscritos participan con una amplia gama de currículos de escritura. Con el apoyo de 826 empleados y voluntarios, los estudiantes seleccionan sus piezas de escritura favoritas y luego editan su propio trabajo. Por último, estas piezas se traducen y publican cada año en este libro bilingue. Nuestra publicación se publica tradicionalmente con nuestros jóvenes autores leyendo su escritura a otros estudiantes, familias y tutores al final del año escolar.

826 Valencia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to eighteen with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.
